"91 F2 - $1000, good deal?
Hi, new here to both this site and bikes. I'm looking at purchasing a '91 F2, bone stock with 17,039 miles on it. Its in great shape and the dude wants 1K for it....seems like a good deal to me. Looks like there are a lot of F2's out there, is there a lot of parts and accessories for these? Are they good starter bikes?
Thanks for any help,
later,
- Joe

That would be a very good deal as long as the bike is all there. CBR 600's are great starter bikes! I still ride mt 91 that I bought in 91! I am going to tell you the truth about being a new rider..GO TAKE THE MSF new riders course!

It sounds like a very good deal as long as it's in good shape. Make sure you don't have to put a lot of money into it right away like new tires and stuff. Also see if he has service records for it (for example he should have had the valve clearance checked out at about 15,000 miles).Download the service manual, it's on here somewhere, and see what should have been done to it and when it should have been done. Good luckJoe!!!

Thank all! I'm stoked, going to go check it out this weekend. This bike belongs to my sister-in-laws fiance and as far as I've been told (I believe him), it only needs the valve adjusting and tune up. How important is that to do right away, or could I ride the bike now and have that done early next spring after a few more miles (<1K)?

The valves should be OK if the bike wasn't abused or anything. When I had mine checked, they said the valves were right on spec and other F2 owners I've talked to haven't had anything out of adjustment at that mileage either. Mine's coming up on it's second adjustment early next year. Actually, that sounds like a good thing to have done over the winter if it's too cold to ride for you. I'm sure there's a how-to somewhere in here if you're handy with tools andfeeling adventurous.
