Default 1000 rr needs good headers

We are running a 06 and we need to get rid of the 10 ton exhaust. I'm not looking for noise but don't want the upswept muffler with all of the unnecessary upper weight, it handles bad enough!
Ineed something to dump out behind my rearset for the rear brake, with the muffler under the engine. We stripped the factory plastics and put them on the shelf the bike was brand new on 7-3-07and only has 160 race miles. This bike is hard to find good aftermarket parts for.

are you sure you are talking about a 1000RR. They handle like they are on rails. If you have to a lighter header you'll have to purchase a full exhaust but no one to my knowledge makes and exhaust similar to the one you want for the 1000RR. Looks like its time to do some custom work. What type of racing are you doing anways?

Hey Triax,
I have just started to set this CBR1000RR up for endurance and sprints. We are involved with CCS and also joining WERA. The bike has to much push in the corners. We are trying to get rid of as much ofthe upper weight to help with that. We beleive that there is also gyrating effects from the crank as well. The bike may be a 1 liter but it is very ill handleing. When you can watchSV650's and Gixxers run past you in the corners it tells you something.
It will hold more than it's own on the straights but any body can go straight! In roadracing it is all about corner speed. It is a sport know fact the 600's will smother and big bore in the corners and when the final lap times show the 1000 is just not doing it. Example was this weekend, CBR1000RR on a 2.25 mile track with 2 long straights one of which is almost 1/2 mile and another 3/8 of mile with radar speed of 182 mph on the straights but overall laps of1:24's and the 600's as good as 1:17's itis not hard to see. So sometime size does not matter.

The bike has been set up with suspension work by guys who only work on CBR1000's and know how to rework the system for the riders weight (152lbs) who has many championships on the wall. This bike maybe street impressive but when your on the track just look around and there aren't to many CBR 1000's in fact there was only 3 counting ours and they were pulling the same lap times and a little slower.

In the open class with the Buells and so on the Gixxers 750's and 600's blew us away. So I am sorry to say that I am talking about a Fresh Brand New Set Up Fireblade.

I also have had alot of issues with good parts for the same, theres not much out there.

Thanx

Dan
