Hey guys, im new on the site and i figured ya'll could help me out. I rode my bike about an hour and a half to my house and the bike ran perfectly. about fifteen minutes after i left heading back to where i was my fi light and the red warning light came on and the bike would start jumping like with the acceleration and the bike would shut off unless i grabbed the clutch and revved it up for a few seconds. I stopped at a gas station and bought some fuel injection and caurberator cleaner that you add to the gas and poured some in then took off again. this seemed to help a little bit but i still had the same problem just not as frequent. what could be causing this?

Have you checked to see if any codes are stored? Since the fi light came on, you may have stored that could point you in the right direction.

You may simply have a loose connection, ground or battery connection. I would pull the battery terminals and clean them and make surer they are secure.

It's very hard to suggest something since it is intermittent. But more time than not, a problem that is not consistent is usually electrical.

It may also help other help you if you can provide some more info. How many miles, ever been down, what mods, does it only happen after it's warm, does it only happen at certain throttle inputs..ect.

 

It has 16 thousand on it. It's been laid over once by me at less than 30 miles an hour. The only mod it has is a jardine exhaust. It just randomly does it. Maybe after hitting a bump in the road. I live in louisiana so the roads here are ALL rough! Lol but as far as throttle and speed it's only done it around a lower speed (-55) but I haven't been faster while its acting up. It done it right after I replaced all the cosmetics from the wreck but turned out the battery cable was just loose but I've checked it already.

the plug under the speedometer was just loose
