Default 04, 05 cbr1000rr coil problem

does the charging coil on the cbr1000rr 04 and 05 models fry that easily? i've heard from many friends that theirs fry too easily and frequently. Wonder is there anyway to rectifier this problem?

by the way, does the HESD need any servicing at all?
I'm thinking of purchasing an 04 cbr1000rr. need to do my homework before plunging in. Thanks guys

go to 1000rr.net and look up stator problems
the 04/05 supposedly go out a lot

you dont hear much about the 06/07 yet

supposedly Honda is covering them under an extended warranty

The stators are frying from low RPMs, according to Honda.I got an extended warranty paper in the mail a few weeks ago where Honda will cover stator replacement for 6 years. When I read about this I thought it must be heat-related, but the paper mentioned that running at lower RPM is the root of the problem.

The only way to find out is go to the dealer and ask. The papers includedprocedures for getting your money back from Honda if you'd already paid to have the stator replaced.
