My 93 steaming the same just because the orings shrink that much in sub zero temps

Meh I'll wait and do them in the spring - can't ride much at the moment anyhoo.

Ran all the bikes up to temp today oiled the chains. Being replacing rear taillights with
SuperLed Modulating Leds - extra bright - modulate x3 every instance

Thumbs up quick action throttle

Because I have always found the degree of turn on the throttle a bit too long today I modded my throttle to quick action. Have done this previously on a couple of my bikes. Al you need is some super glue and a zip tie. 20 mins later job done. Nice fast throttle with less degree of turn to full throttle. Bit of a cheap way to solve the problem but works a treat .
Next job will be to get the headlight out and see if I can fix the adjusters as one headlight is aiming at the ground.

Took mine out for a 30mile or so run today, adjusted the rear shock preload as it was a bit too soft before, adjusted the chain and set the correct tyre pressures before going out.

i've only taken it out once before after buying it for a short run and thought the handling felt a bit funny........turns out there was 29psi in the rear instead of 42, and 27 in the front instead of 36..... Felt so much better riding it today with the correct tyre pressure! I guess it's safe to assume that not all previous owners of bikes check tires pressures often!

New exhaust system, chain and sprockets, rear shock change and suspension linkage cleaned and greased, antifreeze and oil/filter change, adjusted balancer shaft, cleaned radiator (Sooo filthy and guncked up), lots of underside cleaning and greasing, brakes cleaned and calliper pins greased....... ready to roll tomorrow morning.
The best thing is, I've got a week off.
As Arnie says, "I'll be back.........eventually"!

Two days of work = a lot of reliable miles ahead.

Had a bit of a leak from the clutch slave so popped the piston out and checked the seal, had some wear, but didn't look too bad so put it back it and re-bled the clutch with new fluid but still was leaking so will be purchasing new seal kit soon.

Ordered new oil and filter in preperation for when i fit new clutch plates. Will be ordering those next week and gasket.

Looking forward to working on her and hopefully ending up with a clutch that doesn't leak or slip!!

Hello there,

I'm a new owner of a 90 hurricane 1000f and no much of a mechanic but done a few fixes myself following directions from the guys here at the forum. Thanks everyone again.

My clutch is also acting up. I've read that it could be that the plates had crystallized due to low temp winter so that I should replace them or at least try new oil first even though I just put in one last year. If I have to change clutch plates, do you have a procedure (pictures would be much helpful) on how to do this? Also, where can I get good set of clutch plates? Thank you.

There is a "HOW TO" on the clutch from Malbo, see that section.

Yes, here is a link to the thread that cb2cbr mentioned, very good step by step write up with pics. Depending on where you are based i wouldn't be sure where would be the best place to purchase clutch plates from, but original honda, or EBC and Barnett would be good brands of plates.
