Henry,
I wanted to modernise her a bit but not take away from her stock look to much. I think these lenses achieve that goal nicely. They have a slight smoke to them and aren't totally clear but near enough.

Next week I am utilising a guy locally that does hydrographics and having my dash cover, alternator cover and crankcase cover done in a carbon fibre. Check the link out for how its done.

The lights look great with your colour scheme Bordo. Not too sure they'd go with my red bike though, maybe a darker smoked lens would be good for me.

I think I'd have to agree with you Hawk. Your black and red would certainly look better with a slight tint.
Thanks for the pics Bordo. I will have to stick this mod on my wish list for next year.
Looking forward to seeing your carbon fibre dip work.

I got the new pipes delivered by the way and to my delight they have lugs for the heat shields to attach to. Most excellent. Really well made and in tip top condition too.
Fitting will happen over or soon after Christmas. Can't wait.

The guys I got these off do have the tinted ones as well as the clear. These have a slight tint that doesn't show up top well in the pics. The links for them are a few posts back. They also sell from a website seperate to Ebay. Cheers.

I agree to Hawk. Perhaps a darker tint would suit the black part of your colour scheme better than clear or slight tint. Check this store out.

Talking Time to get the Pink One sorted

I've been home for 4 days so far and I have done the following:

All plastics are off the bike.
Plastic welded some cracks.
Complete oil and filter change.
Wired up and installed stick coils.
Installed 12v socket.

Still to do:

Remove and get sorted the swing arm.
New tyres.
Stainless steel brake lines to get and install.
New grips to put on.
Waiting for new leavers to arrive.
Get seat recovered.
Clean every part of the bike.
Possible CCT, not sure if I need one.
Go for a ride once completed.

Enjoying every minute of working on her again. I have certainly missed this.

Can't wait to get them delivered. Just need a new set of headers but that will have to wait till after Crimbo. No rush but something to look forward to.
Happy days. Bring on the Winter. Let's get it over with.

H
Bordo and Henry,
Nice bit of updating on the bikes. The clear lenses really show a 'modern' side to the bikes.
Henry, have fun with the pipes and the extra GGs

Hey Rick,
nice to hear from you. Did you manage to get your bike sold? More importantly, have you fixed up the Kwack after your tumble?

I started fitting my VFR bars yesterday afternoon and have been stopped firmly in my tracks when I realised the ones I've got a 25mm shorter than the CBR clip ons. I'm trying to get to the bottom of this as I don't remember having such an issue with the previous set. They fit on the forks just fine but I'm puzzled. Anyone got a set they can measure for me to confirm the length. These things are sent to try us......
I may have to abandon the bar replacement and jump to the HID conversion instead.
It's nice not to be at work though!

Thumbs up VFR Bars

HenryM,

Have the bars been cut down? Mine went straight on with just cable routing to sort when I did it. Miss my HID and its on the list for 2014, the xenon just aren't as good.

Yes the Kwack was back on the road 3 weeks later.......might change to a Blackbird next year if I cant tame the beast.

Stay safe
