Worth the effort Steve - the Mk3 sender reaches further back into the
"heel" of the tank thus more accuracy when fuel is low.
Replacing the o-ring is a requirement however

I threw a new 18t front sprocket on today. I had just replaced front/back (17/42) and a new 530 chain but I was interested in getting a little more from her. I really like the feel of this gear ratio. 1st feels good off the line and 2nd is good in a 90d turn, everything is nice and smooth. I'll be interested to see how my mpgs and highways rpms turn out.

Please let us know if the fuel consumption is affected by the bigger front sprock. Being something of a mile luncher myself I'd be happy to know the effect and maybe follow suit. Speedo healer territory. Yeuch!

Built most of the Mk 2 CCT mod today. Need a little more thinking time for the last part. the batch production is a little closer.
Cleaned the mirrors, smiled at her and shut the garage door feeling eager to get on the road tomorrow morning.
By the way, PR 3s are bloody amazing rubber on these bikes. It hasn't been said enough. If you can afford them you will seriously not be disappointed.

18tooth - does give you a couple of more mpg - about 2 or 3 I'd say.
Like the way the chain runs all smooth and **** with the bigger cog eh
drewski - that's what made me leave it on there for commuting purposes

It is nice, I have a tendency to have more fun w/ a bit of a longer gear off the line. For some reason I always do, I'll prob wind up only getting better mpgs on the highway as a result; I find myself keeping the rpms higher w/ this setup just because I'm generally down a gear! With my old bike I just ended up launching in 2nd, no need for that anymore.
This ratio makes it easier (for me) to keep tension on the drivetrain when I'm doing slow speed stuff. I like that too.

+ 1 on the PR 3's. I started with Pilot Powers went to PR2's and last to PR3's
The 3's seem to be made for this bike!!

Default I got a TICKET w/ mine!!

First ticket on the CBR yesterday!! Had her since December so I guess that's not bad!
50 in a 35, the cop was cool and thought my honesty and lack of concern was kinda funny. He asked why he pulled me over and I said "well I was probably speeding, no idea how fast though". He gave me the smallest ticket he could, said it "wasn't cuttin' my grass, nothing to go on my record or anything"... I don't know how that works but whatever, I'll defer if I need to.
I'll admit I was kinda surprised he didn't just give me a warning. I was in full protective gear w/ luggage on the bike in 35 degree weather (didn't really qualify as a squid is what I'm getting at). That and my buddy was 4 car lengths ahead of me doing the same speed but he didn't talk to him. Guess he just wanted to check out the sweet ol' CBR!
Gotta slow her down a bit!
