So, I went for a test ride on Knackie's new CBR1000F.

Mrs SB is going for her license this Friday, and there is lots of slow cornering and maneuvering between lines. There is a practice course open to the public at Murray Bridge - about 50km from home - so we decided to spend a few hours there.

Mrs SB on her Suzuki GSX250 and me on Knackie's CBR1000F.

We happened to be going through Plamer on the way there, which happily had the annual Hot Rod show - so a little stop over.

If ever I need a Gopher - this is the one

Just lovely - and the music from the exhaust

Good old Aussie muscle. 350 Monaro

Lined up

Amazing paint!

Heading off to Murray Bridge we got a little wet as we rode through a cloudburst, but when we got to the practice course it was thankfully dry.

Knackie's CBR1000F went like a rocket, typical cam chain tensioner rattle at start up, turbine smooth power delivery through the twisties, though with a bit of a squared off rear tyre, tipping in was fun

Here's the CBR1000F at rest with Mrs SB practicing hard in the background - as you can see - a very grey day!

And here's one from the archive proving that SB actually had to learn to ride as well - black and white because colour cameras weren't invented then. My first solo on a bike

Stay safe.

Cheers, SB

Ask not what your forum can do for you, ask what can you do for your forum

Unhappy wasted time with water pump

Ok the usual reliability has dropped out the window this weekend - but at least I wasnt stranded she still did a 240 mile round trip

water coming out of the drain hole on the water pump taken it apart and both the local dealer and Honda quote £177 but its on bloody back order

Now trying to locate a used one somewhere in UK

Update:
found one for £50 with just 800 miles on. Should be here tomorrow. For those unaware of the drain hole photo attached.

Looks like you've got another drain hole in your shoe Rick!
Glad you got hold of one at a reasonable price. Also good to know current Honda prices just in case.
Did you take the old pump apart to find out where it was actually leaking?

The 'hole' in my shoe is an oil drop

haven't taken to th eold pump apart yet for 2 reasons - awaiting new one - they are a sealed unit so stripping it will knacker it, see point 1.

Will let you know more when the new unit arrives.
