Yesterday I added 2 coil sticks (when I was doing the plugs one of the boots fell apart) just to test them and had a scare. Bike wouldn't start. So it had been a long day and I figured let it slide till today and kick back. So today I got out the meter and checked the coil harness and everything checked out so I was doubly stumped. I said "F" it and pulled both coils and hooked up the sticks and harness and bam she started faster than she ever has! I love these things Best $50 bucks ever spent!

Default Raining today so nice Saturday Job, fitted new headlamp bulb

Tried fitting new headlight bulb a few weeks ago to my 1000f-j following the Haynes manual, 'remove right hand fairing inner' didn't work, then I tried removing the screen, unscrewing the instrument panel which allowed me limited access. The headlight bulb retaining clip came out, I thought it had broken; eventually got the bulb to stay in with just the sealing rubber. Anyway, raining today so it was a job that needed doing, I removed the top fairing, apparently you are supposed to remove all the lower panels, luckily I managed to remove just the upper on it's own, fitted new bulb, refitted the retaining clip and new sealing rubber, all done in an hour.

Ugly buggers these bikes with the plastics removed lol!!

Cheers, Steve

Fitted brake de-linking kit from Jaws motorcycles. New discs and pads front and rear. Flushed all new fluids through. Good wash and polish. On the hunt for some new good rubber, (thinking new dunlop sportsmart or michelin pilotpower II). Hasnt been started in a while, fired her up, held her open, all seems good. Going on a test ride this afternoon, if it doesnt rain...
Getting ready for our southern hemisphere summer! Bring it on!!
Hueristic..I love your signature line..Black Sabbath rules! Will post photos on de-linking thread when I work out how to do it.

The next time, try standing along side the bike facing backwards. turn the bar s for clearance. Reach in backwards and see if you can do the job without removing anything. That's how I do mine in 10 minutes. Its all done by feel.

I just ordered some Dyna Beads from the USA. Will see how they go and if they work ok I'm going to look at doing my own tyres in the future. Will have to buy the proper bike tyre fitting tools of course but they will pay for themselves over time. Balancing was always my main concern with DIY tyre fitting but if the Dyna Beads do what they say they will I'm half way there. I'm sick of getting ripped off with tyres in this country. It will be worth having a crack myself.
