Default Vibrating Front End

Afternoon all,
Been about a year since I was last on here, kinda dissappeared off the face of the planet for a bit. CBR still going well tho apart from a vibration on the front end. You don't feel it when you are accelerating, only when coasting and it diminished when braking. Think my wheel balance is fecked, or do you think i've got some warped brake disks or shot bearings ??

Any suggestions ideas most welcome.

Kev.

Most likely the front tire is severly cupped. If you run your hand across the tire from the center to the edge it should be nice and smooth. If there is a depression just off center then rising back up towards the edge, it's cupped.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check that tonight when I get home. I'm 99% sure you are right tho as I am needing a new tyre on the front, it's down to its wear markers. I would have been replacing it soon anyway so I guess this might bring d-day forward :-)

Thanks,
Kev.

Yeah, if the front tire is an older Dunlop they seem to wear unevenly faster.

I'm having a similar issue....

My front end shakes pretty bad. At highway speed, if I stand up and look over the front, I can see the fender shaking violently and the whole front end shakes back and forth. To me this would seem to be a badly balanced tire. However, I had the tire rebalanced, same problem. Had the tire replaced, same problem. I replaced the bearings less than a year ago aswell so I'd tend to rule that out, but maybe I did a poor job and they're bad again?!? Any other ideas guys?

ORIGINAL: MarkR

could be a buckled wheel or a warp disc
So a warped disc could effect the front end even when not on the brakes?
