Im new to this forum cause I finally bought my first bike (02 cbrf4i). Anyway, the reason im here is like i said i just bought my first bike and i dont have much knowledge about bikes yet. Wether im out riding or if i just rev it, once it hits around 5k rpms the handle bars vibrate like crazy, and i looked and cant find the cause of this. I am missing the left handle barend (the wieght) but that wouldn't cause it to vibrate alot, would it? Any help would be great. Also does anyone know of a good site i could buy spark plugs, Since i got the bike, i figured i would give it a little tune up, I changed all the fluids, and since it has 12000 miles on it, i figured i should changed the plugs, anything else i should change or get checked since it has that many miles, I dont have the owners manual to check.

 

The F4i can be a little buzzy. At 5K you may be feeling the CCT (do a search on that or cam chain tensioner). The bar end is important to reduce the vibrations that you feel, but I don't know if it helps when you are sitting still and just revving it. The CCT usually goes away in the higher rev ranges maybe 7 or 8K.

Don't forget to lube the chain (search on that too, lotsa posts), maybe switch to synthetic (search on favorite or bestoils, please don't ask that question) and have fun.
