Default Gas tank vibrating...

I have a 98 CBR 600 F3 and when I ride I can hear the gas tank vibrate and it drives me crazy. When I squeeze my legs agains the gas tank it really reduces the vibration noise. Is there a padding under the gas tank that I might need to either replace or add too, to possibly help with the vibration? Or is it something else? Thanks for any help.

Hi, I think dampening for the tank is provided by rubber at both bolt holes and by rubber 'feet' that fix to the seam of the tank at the sides where it rests on the frame. Pull the side fairings off and you'll see what I mean. Rog

Dodger is correct. The bottom tank bolt has a rubber boot. The upper bolt has collar of sorts that it goes through. The sides of the tank rests on rubber tabs that adhere to the top of either side of the frame. That's about it, except for the foam pads that that stick to the bottom of the tank to prevent it from rubbing on the air box.
