I mean, it's definitely louder than stock, but you must have some hard-*** coppers up your way.
What do they do with the Harley guys??
Not an issue where I live ...there's hundreds of dirtbags with straight pipes
It's where I work..............cuz I park my bike in the garage with the
cop bikes.........and they keep DB meters in their boxes..................
So I try to make sure we get along without perceived issues !

Drilled out the 3 holes I had on each pipe yesterday to 1/2 inch size, and added 2 more holes 7/16 i think) to each side. So there are 5 holes on each pipe total. Sounds really good!

Sprock, how do you plug your holes when you want to quiet it down?

5/8" hex bolts, basically force threaded them into 1/2" + holes. they got no heads
just recessed allen "hex" slots .......look to be made out of some sore of hard carbon
steel............got 'em in my local ace hardware.

Do you have to thread them in? Do they feel secure like they will stay?

bicklebok, yes he threads them in.

It sounds to me like he'a almost talking about a set screw (they are headless).
Something like this...

However, I planned on using a smooth head socket screw like this...

I'd be worried about losing a set screw down the pipe (although, like sprock said... it's a tight fit)
The reason for not using a regular hex bolt is because they probably wouldn't fit. I think I may be able to get the smooth hex in there, though....

Almost Dylan, the first set, only half the depth and carbonised hard steel.
You go slightly bigger than 1/2 inch then self tap them in using the hex bolts.
(set screws as you call them Dylan)

I have threaded them in and out a few times .......and they stayed tight.
If one gets loose ......little bit of jbweld or epoxy putty while threading back
in will hold 'em

Dunno what yer plan was with those second ones Dylan ? ! They'd need to be
2 1/2 to 3 inches long to hit the inner baffle wall to get a grip

Ha ha..
I didn't mean those exact screws, sprock. In fact, those second one's would never work, you're right... way too long and they aren't threaded all the way.
I was just trying to show them with and without heads, in case he was worried about them dropping in. I should have mentioned that.
Full sized hex heads I think are too big to fit within the lip on the can.

If one gets loose ......little bit of jbweld or epoxy putty while threading back
in will hold 'em
You could probably use a threadlocker, too. (probably blue would be best...but I don't see why red wouldn't be ok.)
