I recon mine gutted is just a bit crisper and may be a touch deeper...but yer , I agree , they are close
I have done the drill hole thing on a few rides over the years and found that the only thing that bugged me was the slight ...
(now I know this is gunna stretch imaginations lol ) the slight " ppfft " sound within the nice growl that you have in yours ...
Its like a restricted gasses sound that you can hear over the lovely growl...
Gutting them if you can seems to let the full rounded growl out ..
yer ok ..it sounds like om talking chit , but as I said, I have done the drill thing too...
Anyway ..both are way better than the bloody stock ones that only make one huge ..." PPPPPPPFFFFFTTTTT " sound ..lol
BTW- What I love about all these stock style exhausts on these big bores is the fact that they sound like bloody Ferrari's ..!!
No chit , when me and the misses hit it big time under lots of engine load to over take fast , or bring her down through the gears ( at least 6000 rpm + ) going past cars and other bikes at a rapid rate of knotts, I can feel the other drivers and riders hearts stop from the roar !!!!
Its a great sound !! om lovin it ..

Sure, I love that sound as well, is not something you get out of a 4-1 system, this is more of a "sport" sound, not a "racing" scream
When I'll order the new set (these are a bit rusty), I'll tell the guy to gut them so I'll get the right sound, and not the holes! hehe
One bike I love the sound of it as stock, and is that "ferrari" sound, is the ZZR 600 (or ZX6). Had the chance to ride a couple of them, that sound just makes you go faster and faster.

They have been gutted internally to some degree....
The CBR was not quite warm so I did not rev it to death...

Well, you done good hawkman!!
That's why I was wondering in earlier posts about how many holes I wanted to drill and how big. Thank you much for the video and description, it's helpful.
As soon as i get my poor girl put back together, I'm gonna do something similar. Just gotta finish a carb sync, and charge up the drill!
(btw, on a side note....if you can help it, don't ever buy an F'er with all the P.A.I.R emissions crap....It should be called P.I.T.A instead)
