Speedometer Problems!

Speedometer Problems!
My speedometer isn't working and I need to get my bike inspected! The cable works fine as well as the gauge itself. The cable to hub assymbly connection is fine too. The problem is somewhere deeper inside, but I know almost nothing about speedometers. My question is how hard will this be for me to fix and how much should I expect to pay to get it fixed if I get too frustrated?
Thanks!
Jon

RE: Speedometer Problems!
Hey I think the problem was that little plastic nut thing that connects the sprocket boltto the sprocket cover. It looks a little stripped.I ordered one for 7 bucks! Easy fix! It will be in sometime soon. If that doesn't fix it, then the only other thing it could be is that the large sprocketbolt in the middle of the sprocket is loose, but I highly doubt that to be so, but I guess it's possible because there are two otherbolts holding the sprocket on too. Thanks for your willingness to help!
Another question: how do you guys get your bikes up on the stand which elevates the rear wheel off the ground? I need another person or two to help me muscle it up and I weigh 235. Is there a special technique of sort?
Thanks again

RE: Speedometer Problems!
Never a problem for me. Just put left hand on the left hanlebar for stability, and your other hand on the metal frame bar just near your right knee. Place your right foot on the centerstand and while pushing down with your right foot, pull up with your right hand straight up and it will go up slicker than eel snot. I'm only 5'7 and 165 and have no problems so it should be a piece of cake! (yummm cake....)
