Default Silly Question?

I know this may be a silly question, but when inspecting a used bike, is there any way to tell if it's been jetted or not, without tearing it apart?

Thanks.

Not a silly question. If you don't know, then you don't know, there's nothing wrong with that. As for being able to tell, I don't see how visually you could tell. The jets are inside the carburetors. Without disassembling them, you wouldn't know for sure.

Thanks, that what I suspected. I just thought there might be some performace charastic that might give you a clue. The bike I'm looking at has aftermarket exhaust so I was concerned that it was carburated properly. I guess the only way to know without dissasembling the carbs is to put an EGA on it to make sure there are no A/F issues.

Thanks.

If the owner will let you lift up the tank, you can remove the diaphram off a carb and see if an aftermarket needle if installed
