Default Silly Question

Hey Guys,

I just recently purchased a pickup truck to haul my CBR 929 around for long trips. This is the first time I've had a pickup so I've never loaded a bike on a truck. I plan to purchase a ReadyRamp which is a bed extender and ramp all in one. My question is what is the best way to load a bike on a pickup truck.. should I muscle it and push it up the ramp and if so how do you push a 400lbs bike up the ramp incline keeping your footing? Or should I ride it up the ramp? Thanks for any responses...

I've learned to have no less than three able bodies available and standing by in case things start to go badly but then again I've never used ramps.

Depends on how high the back of the truck is and how long your ramp is. I never have less than two people but three is good.

Look for a video on youtube of a guy riding his 929 (I think) into the back of a UHaul and that'll answer you're question of whether you can drive up a ramp or not.

I used to have a 19-something... (i forget) old yamaha 125 enduro and i remember giving it a try riding into the back of a toyota we used to haul it around in.
I ended up giving it too much gas and totally V'ing in the front of the bed.
I suggest if you do attempt to ride it in (on those days where you dont have all your buddies) to have a cushion and or pad at the front of the bed. I would even go as far as getting an electric winch for those solo days. If you do ride it in make sure to brake early as well. I think its possible to do it alone safely as long as you know what to do.

Get one of these and ride it in and out all by yourself. I do it all the time and I'm Old and Fat (see my forum ID for proof). If I can do it, anyone can.
