Question on changing front sprocket
Has anyone change the front sprocket???
Do you have to split the chain in order to remove the sprocket???
Do you have to remove the rear tire or just by loosening it there is enough slack or flexibility in the chain to do the job???
Thanks for the input.

I changed the front sprocket because I was changing the chain. It was worn down more than my rear sprocket. I used Esjot sprockets and a DID chain. I also bought a Motion Pro Jumbo chain breaker which made assembly very easy. I figure I can use the Jumbo tool when I replace the cam chain. I broke the old chain, put the new sprockets on, threaded the new chain onto the old one, pulled the new chain over the new sprockets, and used the Jumbo tool to link the new chain together.
The front sprocket pulls right off, but I think you need some slack in the chain. As I remember, it was pretty tight with all the other things around. I also replaced the plastic coupling between the sprocket bolt and the speedo cable.

Changing the front C/S sprocket is super easy. If you want some pics of the process, e mail me and I can send then to you. You do not have to remove the chain, but you do have to adjust the tension all the way to slack.
Thank you so much for the offer, you answered exactly what I was going to try first.
I did not want to buy the tools and/or split the chain.
