They "borrow" the one guy's dad's ferrari and then "try" to roll back the odometer by jacking up the rear and flooring it in reverse.
All it does is falls off the jack, crashes through the nice plate glass garage window and ends up in a huge ditch.

It was a joke.
(but what are you doing trying to take the miles off your wing, wolf??...

)
Well my bike only has 12k on it and the new speedo reads 32k. So that's why I want to try and turn back the speedo

Ferris Bueller's day off, Troutlet - remember it well...................
I just hated what he did to the Ferrari..................
Fixing a speedo to read correctly isn't crooked. I have the same problem with my replacement speedo, reads too low at 56000K's.

Trout you bad lad. I have'nt tried my self but when you put the bike in reverse the speedo works as normal just at a slower speed. Personally I love putting miles on my wing, some guys get to paraniod about high miles but hey I know a guy who has owned a 1988 wing since new and done 250,000 miles. All he has done is regular services and cam belts. I resprayed it 2 years ago and it still sounds good a gold, no signs of ware at all. Mine had 12,000 on when I bought it and 7 years later it has just over 71,000. Bring on that magic 100 thats what I say. Personally I would check the old speedo still works and swap the guts out soo you have the right miles for your bike and then go out and enjoy throwing miles on her, she will thank you for it with the smile factor.
I had to replace my daughters with one with twice the mileage on it. All you can do is note the mileage on the old one and new one and hand the old one over to the new owner and explain what happened. If you plan on keeping the bike forever, only you need to know.
It is not worth busting up the new one to try to get inside it. There is a sealed ring that once broken, you will not get back together again.
Be thankful that you found one that works.
