Any thoughts on whether to run 170 or 180 on the back

Thanks

I pushed my new qualifier yesterday, and it feels great.

He also said that I should run a 170 as it will improve my handling and that there are no advantages on running a 180 (except for the look).
He's right. It actually turns heavier with a 180. Fine if you don't mind moving your butt over in the seat for just about every corner at any speed beyond sloooow.

I say this as one who runs a 180 but only because of track days and the availablity of Diablo Corsa's in only 180 or 190. If it was available in a 170, I'd run that.

Mark, I've heard the roads are quit abit diff. than the powers. As you say that you are going 170 rear, for handling, I think the road rear, isn't optimal.
I went w/ azaros, sp frnt, st rear, thinking I would be carying passengers... long since scared them off !!!!!!!! I went w/ the sp frnt to sharpen the turn in, and it did, but as i am solo usualy... i would go sp rear too, in retrospect( I still may!!)
I went w/ the 180 rear, and even w/ an sp rear (to match frnt turn in ), I will go w/ a 180, mostly cause i wiegh 275(almost as much as two up!!!!!) The st rear dosent seem to slow the rear unreasoably... but I'm sure it does (slow it some).Azoros, are said to "stablize" a twitchy bike, hardly a problem w/ a 1000f.
Having to "look" for twisties localy, and mostly relatively straight otherwise... is the reason I dont do the sp/sp match... just not enough curves and on the typical here, the 180st prob, is a stabilizing factor.
Talk to the power/road factory techs, they would love to get as technical, as you can use... Again I've heard the roads / powers, arn't real close in handling traits, the powers just kick butt, dry/ rain. Clean and free, Ripp'n
