yep, tried the z6's but for the way i ride, i found that the compound on the outside of the tyres wore too fast for my style of giving the 'cane a caning.
they did offer a little more confidence at centrestand scraping lean but i guess the difference was probably just mental as i thought the newer the technology the better then tyre. anywho, the price (for me) didn't justify buying them again so i didnt.
i get about 2thou more km's out of the z4's

Not very sure they have Avon Azaros here in Malaysia but I'll check it out. The next option is Bridgestone 020 which is also a sports tourer tyre. Made in Thailand. I am using a 190/50 in the rear.
I was totally wrong saying that a 190 tyre will not work well on a 5.5" rim :-(

im using a 170 conti road attack on the rear and have put a avon Viper Sport on the front(120/17) and can safely say ive never had so much grip under full power bendies, totally different bike now,so much more responsive n quick steer.
can also relax hands off at 50mph without the wobblies i had with the brdstones 020's.
this and the ceramic no fade pads has helped me surprise lots in the a n b roads.heh.

What pressures are you using? I've got Z6's and they stick like nobody's buisness!
I would recommend the Z6's over the Z4's anyday. They are a great tire!

I eventually went for the metzellar and found them to grip really well in the cold. Could'nt tell you what they are like at the mo as I still waiting for my frame to come back from the powdercoaters. psi was 42 on both as I normally take the other half out as well.

Does anyone use the Dunlop D220? I put it on the front and rear and, as a tourer who just did 1000 miles the past three days, I'd say they were excellent at top freeway speeds (85 mph) and in the bendies (though I'm not a fearless flier like others here).

I've got them on my '94. My back has about 8000 miles on it and it's about due for replacement. The front has 15K miles on it and it to is now due for replacement. If you're doing mostly highway miles the D220s are great. Very stable at any speed (at least 160 on the speedo), and fairly well in the corners. I'm getting the bike ready to do a track day in the near future, so I'll be wanting more agressive tires for it. I've been reading the threads here on what tires people are using before I purchase.

Have you thought of trying Michelin Pilot Roads, instead of the Sports. Mine are lasting really well, and seem to hang on better, and warm up quicker on the edges than the Z6s they replaced (i haven't tried Z4s).
Dave.
