12.4 is a low non charged voltage.........battery is borderline & on the way out I'd say

Just another thought..If it does turn out to be fuel related maybe the vacuum operated petcock thingo has some crap in it and is playing up. Maybe at idle or low revs the valve is sticking only partially open, but when you give it the beans it opens right up. Like I said it's just a thought and the electrical theories are sounding more likely. It's just that the valve is a nice easy one to check and then rule out.

What happens if just before the stops, you put choke on? Does it still die?

I am just trying to rule out the low speed jets being clogged.

The problem is it gives no warning of when it is going to die. Sometimes it is when I am waiting at the stop sign, sometimes it is when I am just off of idle slowing to stop. I did look at my inline fuel filter and it looks clean. I did look in the tank and noticed it has a chemical "liner" in it and it is starting to peel. That makes me think maybe if there any chunks floating around in there it may be causing a blockage in fuel pit **** thingy.

I'd be inclined to empty the tank, give it a good flush out and pull the petcock apart and clean it too. At least these are easy things which don't cost any cash and then you can cross them off your list of possibles. Test the petcock after you fill up with juice again by pulling the main fuel line off the carbies and also the vacuum line. Turn on the fuel and suck on the vac line to the petcock. You shouldn't have to suck hard. You should hear a slight click and fuel should flow freely. I hope it's an easy fix, whatever it is! Intermittent faults are a real ***** to fix sometimes, you've just got to work through from the cheapest and easiest end and hope for the best.

I COMPLETELY AGREE!!!! NOW...... lol

IDENTICAL to what my gal did and it only happend about 5 times in about a month / 1k miles, but I could almost catch it and rev her back up from stalling.

I hate to be the wet blanket but it still sounds IDENTICALLY like mine dude..... Then the "Big Bang" theory happend during AM rush hour traffic at 45 mph / about 3-4k RPM. I can appreciate the cheap route though; just don't wait too long or this may happen. I thought it was fuel too... sorry again. Just too erie and too close to mine
