That's a great lesson to learn though Jo and a great excuse to tell the wife when you want to get out and ride 'Sorry Honey, but it's just gotta be done'. Follow this with a big sigh and you may even get some sympathy

You not a two bike household any more Jo, you not got the cruiser? I really liked the look of your Honda Davidson

Yeh, I still have the Yammy Davidson. And now that I have an automatic foolproof battery tender, it always starts no matter how long it's been. Simple huge carbs I guess.

We went out yesterday for a nice long ride finally, and switched bikes in the middle. The CBR was perfect.

We were checking out the Yammy too because the boychild dumped it a few months back so we had to do a little part replacing and dremmel smoothing and shifter bending and such. Looks like knew again. No sheet metal was touched. No remaining evidence. Lucky.

He said he as going around a corner right here by the house and it just slid out from under him. He asked me how I got around that corner without losing it, and I said "so that I don't have to lean over". Switching from a CBR to a cruiser (even the best handling one out there) is tricky. It's easy to get too frisky. Like they said in Days of Thunder - "The [bike] weighs twice as much, and the tires are half as wide".

Update: Still running like a top (the CBR) though I probably ought to check the tire pressure before my next run.
