Emission engines had an E in the number, eg
SC24E........like mine.
I think yours is an emission engine....
Not that it matters, all you have to do is remove the rubber inlet boots on the carbs, and see if there are restrictor rings in them. If so, grind them off, and you should have full horsepower.

Interesting stuff but the rubber couplers/inlets on my existing engine are unrestrictive. They are nothing more "fancy"rubber hose. What I mean by that is that the inside looks the same as any normal rubber hose and I don't remember seeing the charcoal cannister in the boxes of parts that the bike came with either.
From what I can tell, both the emission (California) and US/Canada, engine vin number sequences use the same numbers. This is confusing to me.
