Default Coil connections

Hi guys, dave from uk,just joined the forum as I am struggling to get the answer to a question which I hope you can help with. I have a set of coils from a 1994 cbr 1000f, they are tec mp-08, the spade terminals are coloured green and black but no indication of pos or neg, I am using them on a project bike but need the info prior to connecting things up. Thanks in anticipation. Dave

G'Day Dave, and welcome to the CBR Forum.

Chimp was pointing out that many of us with CBR1000Fs have removed the coil packs and replaced them with stick coils.

It would help us if you let us know if the 'project bike' was a CBR1000F or you were trying to put the coils into another bike.

This diagram from the thread Chimp linked you to ........

Has the wiring colour and +/- you are looking for. So sitting on the bike, the coil to the right, fires cylinders 1 and 4, the LHS spade is - the right hand spade is +

Cheers, SB

Default re coils

Hi, thanks for the update, should have been more specific, the motor is actually a 1980 xs 1100 yamaha, the coils came off a1994 cbr 1000 so was hoping to get some feedback on the connections. Dave
