Clip Vs. Rivit

Clip Vs. Rivit
Okay, I'm probably going to start something here, but whats the verdict on whether to use a clip master link on the drive train, or rivit. Yes, I know rivits are more durable, but without buying the tool (100.00) or getting a bike shop to do it. (more $$) your stuck!
Has anyone ever had a bad experience using a clip type masterlink? I know they have to be installed in the right direction and lubes before riding, but other than that is there anything else to look for?

RE: Clip Vs. Rivit
[align=left]I have used the clip type for many years without problem. I have also lost the clip once but nothing happened that time. Now I use a chain with rivet because it had that type of link when I bought the chain, no other reason.
You can assemble the rivet link by yourself without tool. Just a hammer, a small anvil and some skills will do it just fine.
