Hi guys

Just seen one of my (front caliper) brakes is leaking fluid from the bleed nipple. Seems to be leaking from the thread... anyone had experience of this? Is there a rubber washer in there or something that I can't see? Is replacement of the nipple simple or does the sytem need to be bled?

There is no washer under the nipple, it just bottoms out, plugging the hole. Unless the nipple is damaged, you should be able to just snug it up. I hope the calliper is not cracked near the threads.

 

have u touched it at all before it started leaking? if not i would say maybe u have a crack there somewhere, try nippping it a little, or remove and check the seat or bleeder for cracks

 

AAh, Flogger, all that abuse and no maintenance.......he he !
Other comments spot on, may be a good thing to replace the bleed nipples with stainless ones, they last longer and don't corrode into the seats, which sometimes can cause leaks and loss of pressure (and are impossible to get out later) Had that on the old GSX1100, had to change the entire caliper units.
