Default best chain

I have been visiting my parent this week so my trusty steed is getting a much needed break. So since i am not riding for a week I have time to check the forums. Since it is getting chain replacement time, what is a really great chain that won't break the bank. I am looking for the usuall stuff. great wear, low matintence and not to much money to buy one. also are aftemarket chains that much better than a stock chain. My style of riding istn't that aggressive. I push it in the curves but not that much. I don't do the speed racer stuff but here in southern california the back roads are great places to hone your technical riding skills

Default RE: best chain

Probably most any chain you buy these days would suffice. Unless you're drag racing, most chains will last a long time. How long they last depends on how you maintain it. You should lubricate it as recommended by your owners manual. I've put EK chains on both of our bikes, a '97 600 F3 and my '94 1000F. For the longest life I'd go with a "X" ring type of chain. They keep dirt out better as well as retain the grease inside that the factory put there. If you're going to replace the chain, your should replace the sprockets as well. They usually wear as a set, although not always. Companies to consider, DID, EK, RK and Regina. Hope this helps.
