Buy an aftermarket RR. It fixes the Honda "overcharge problem" and performs 15% better at low RPM's. This is what I bought and its been running great!

There is one on Ebay, maybe Someone (hey Shadow) could verify the connector. It does list a 1000f.....

I have not progressed very far, the rectifier does not have a plug on the back of it so I cant check the alternator. I took the head light fuse out, still no increase in the voltage to the battery when the motor is reved up.

Check wiring from the stator for continuity
Check voltmeter is set correctly and battery in v/meter isn't flat
Check 3 yellow field coil wires from stator for current - should each be over 30V at 3000 revs
If not, stator/wiring is fried. Try this

Well I have sent the bike back to the bike shop that put the rectifire in with a copy of the instructuons from this post. Hopefully all will get fixed .

Still have not got my bike back yet, I am told the alternator is charging, I guess they are looking for some wiring issues.

Had the bike back for a few weeks now, found a broken wire in the wires coming from the alternator. it all seems ok now, thanks for the replies.
