Default battery issues???

Hey guys! It's going to be nice and in the mid 60's tommorow and I'm riding the 'cane. When I got it out tonite I noticed that my lights dim down alittle when I pull the clutch in ( the same after revving it up and returning to idle). If I touch the brakes the taillights will dim my headlight also. Does this mean the battery is weak or should I be planning on putting in a new stator? It starts fine and runs fine. Oh,well. My rear 5.5" rim is coming along nicely. I've got all the paint stripped off and started polishing it up. It's my winter time project. So it probably won't get mounted up until springtime. Might as well add another question to my post while I'm at it.....
Sometimes when my bike starts it runs rich. Especially when it's leaned over on the side stand at idle. Sometimes it kinda has a gurgle-ing sound when I get on it hard. To me it sounds like the carbs need cleaned. But before I bought the bike this summer I know for a fact that a dealer had the carbs off trying to get the bike to run right. Could the dealer have set the floats wrong? Would it cause that kind of problem? It's a pretty reasonable shop that did the work. Could the carbs being out of sync cause these problems? What's you guy's opinion on the matter? I'm puzzeled. It always runs rich when it does it. It'll bellow out black puffs everytime you rev it when it's acting up. Plus it burns you're eyes like your standing at the drag strip staging lanes.

Mine has done that since I can remember, and I haven't changed anything yet. The bike doesn't make good electrical power until around 3k rpm's

Seems like one or maybe more float needle and or float seat is leaking fuel. If you have a digital voltmeter, set it to DC 20 volts and set the probes across the battery terminals. At idle, it should read 12-13 volts and when you rev it to 5K, it should read around 15.

That battery/charging system should be just fine.... Most Japanese high-revving stuff I've dealt with doesn't charge much at idle.... so long as you're getting a "bright" ~14volts at your typical riding RPM, I'd trust it.

Just to check it, I'd throw a voltmeter on it, should run your 12 at idle and hop up to around 14, just make sure that it doesn't get any higher voltage in the higher revs, and I'd give it no 2nd thought. <-- all my experience, trust as you will
