Default RE: 7,000rpm anomaly

Sorry I haven’t replied.
I have had no time to doing anything in regards to this problem, There's a lot of good stuff being mentioned and I'm hope to get a little time in the next day or two to try something’s out.
I feel confident that I will be able to isolate this problem to a particular area armed with the suggestions already posted and I will post my findings in due course.

Thanks guys

Default RE: 7,000rpm anomaly

I have had my first ride this year.

Got the bike out to start it as it hadn’t been started for may weeks.
I was very low on petrol, so when I stated it, I place it on the side stand to idle for a bit, after a while it coughed and died, so I guess it ran out of fuel. I read somewhere on this forum that when you turn the bike on, the electric pump runs for a few second, I also read that you have to run the starter a bit to build up a vacuum to fill the cabies, which is it?

I run the bike up to the servo to fill it, it took longer to get back as I found myself taking many detours to get home (didn’t want to get off), so I try my 7000rmp thing, still there. if I pull the clutch in and rev it, goes pass 9k no probs.
I stopped the bike and open up the fuel cap, I through of leaving it open but considered it to be a very bad idea, so I closed it zip up the block getting pass 8k no problem.

I will have to experiment with it a few more times, but 'dad' might have something there.
Is there any check I can do on the breather hose apart from the one I tried above?
