rough idle w/noise and engine lag at 7,000rpm
2002 CBR 954rr, Just replaced the servo motor and now I have a rough idle, poor performance at low RPMs and engine lag when it hits 7,000 RPM or when VTEC engages. There is also some engine noise it is intermittent at idle until the engine warms up then it quiets down.
Weirdest part; After riding the bike and hitting high RPMs there is a notable ticking when at idle and up to about 5,500 RPM. If i turn the bike off and then restart the ticking is gone. the ticking returns when I hit high RPMs again but only when there is a load on the engine. If I rev the engine w/ no load it does not doe tick.
I am thinking it is a timing issue. I have the service manual but cannot find timing adjustment. Any ideas on what is causing this issue is appreciated and any information on how to adjust the timing is greatly appreciated.

The bike only has 12,326 it is not the valves the ticking is coming from the throttle body. the fuel pressure regulator is bad i am waiting for a new one, but I pulled a good one off my friend's 954 and that didn't fix the problem. not what to do next. Can I eliminate the Servo motor as well as exhaust and intake flappers I have read that it can help but i have no idea

ya you can eliminate all of it, i have.... but it won't help your issues at all. i was about to type in "it sounds like a fuel pressure regulator for the rough idle" last time. but i doubt its actual cam timing. have you checked your cam chain tensioner, thats right below your TBs and it could be making the ticking sound youre describing.
