Cheers Steve.
Hi Tenpastnine,

As you will find out - the forum has lots of advice from all over the globe and some local help.
Although we ride the 1000s I am sure we can offer some local help - Bugkiller, Hawkwind, HenryM to name a few.
To see how good this forum is look up "She's gone" thread!

Cheers

Rick

Bugkiller is right on the money here mate.

There is a wealth of knowledge and experience available from the old farts down in the Hurricane Forum.

Sometimes, it's even motorcycle related.

Indeed we tend to take a multifarted approach to offering useful and sometimes useless
advice depending on amount of beverages consumed at time said advice is being solicitated ...

It's all in the technical jargon as you can see.

Question

Heya, Thanks for all the nice replies!

Well a little bit more done today

Still couldn't get it started, no spark
So dad traced all the wires and theres no obvious brakes in the wires though a wiring diagram would be helpful if anyone has one?

However, took this thingy off and oil came out, witch dad tells me it shouldn't have oil in that bit, don't know the name so heres the picture of the thingy..

Has anyone got a wiring diagram or better yet a manual?
&Confirmation that shouldn't have oil in it?

Tomorrow back to work on draining the oil i guess and having a closer look, Thanks!~

^ Shop manual LINK

Under that cover is the timing marks on the end of the crank. There is oil in there.

Well still having trouble starting the bike,(it wont start)
Tried easy start with no luck, the plug wrench hasn't arrived yet so can't check the spark plugs but i can't imagine all of them are so bad it wont spark?

Is there any safety features on these bikes that would stop it start?
Other then being in neutral and the cut off switch?

Thanks again!~

Update_1
the coils are geting 4.0 OHM
I dont know what its supose to be on a 750 but the 600 & 1000 are 2.5 > 3.1 / 2.6 > 3.2
Both coils are reading 3.9 > 4.0

But i don't have much or any experience with this stuff, so does this mean they are both broken?
Dog helping.

Safety features on the bike are the kill switch and the side-stand switch.

These bikes need a big fat spark to start, make sure the battery is up to the job. I'd try boosting it from another battery, just make sure if you do it from a car, it's not running.

No side stand switch on an 87, unless of course the 750 is different? Should be easy to eyeball and determine if that's the case.
