Default USB plug for bike

Ordered one of these out of the USA yesterday. USB seems to be the way to go these days with phones etc so I thought I'd go with this instead of the big 12V plug. Haven't quite decided where to put it yet but I'll sort it out.

not sure about your specific bike but i've seen people mount these on the ram air covers or in the tool box case on a 600RR. i need to get one of these before i start doing my long rides.

I just picked up the 12V socket as it is the best of both worlds, I ran it back under the passeger seat and have the USB adapter for it as well as the AC convertor.

Perfect for long rides as I can charge anything (Ipod, BlackBerry, GPS....)

went with 12v usb insert for the 12v marine type socket myself -
also use same socket to charge the bike battery with an auto style
12v plug in the end

Yup jarvid just put in a ten amp fuse or higher inline when wiring it direct to the battery

MotoBatt batteries are dead handy as they have two sets of terminals - a neg and pos
on each top corner -- makes it even easier.

That's what I've done but mines attached to the clutch reservoir. I back feed my solar charger when not riding and pull the plug when ridding. If I need USB I have an adapter.

Personal choice I guess. Most GPS will charge off power outlets or USB. The USB is smaller but I can run the AC converter. There's something about camping with the bike and still having a table lamp in the tent.LOL

I got the plug in the Blackbird today. I'm not sure where I'm going to mount one on the 1000F yet but it will come to me......lol. I used electrical conduit from the plug down beside the tank underneath the plastic tank surround and wired straight to the battery. Works fine and I can charge the phone while it sits in the tank bag.
