HID vs Silverstars
Couple of thing you guys need to know about HID. Life of the bulb depends on how many times you turn it on and off. Each time you turn it on, the ballast sends a large amount of voltage to the bulb inorder to ignite it. After that it'll only consume 35/50/55watts depending on the ballast you get. That's where the trouble is, on warmup it'll consume alot more power then a regular halogen bulb leaving you with burn wires. This is the reason why most people run new wires with a relay. Not ever car/bike need new wiring though. 4300K is the brightest temperature you can get. As you go higher it's gonna get more blue and eventually pink. Lower you go it'll get yellow. HID bulbs alone does not create a cutoff as on of the member here stated. It's the actually housing that creates the cutoff. You'll see cutoffs on cars with projectors. Honda s2000 and TSX got one of the best cutoffs. They are also one of the widest. Put HID in a halogen housing and you'll have light going all over the place. You'll blind everyone in front of you. Ever see cars with blue lights and they're blinding the crap outta you? That's cause they got HID bulbs in a halogen housing.
