Default HID vs Silverstars

I know $450 vs $40....but anyone had both? Are true HIDs a LOT brighter than the Silverstars??

Thanks!!

Don't want to go get the Silverstars only to buy the HIDs the next day once not potentially happy.

HIDs easily put out over twice the light.

$450 for HID sounds steep , you better call Brad 1-828-395-4231

I don't remember who... but we had a post showing the difference in lights. The HID are a lot brighter and also really white. This takes away from the ability to see the road conditions. In the picture the member was showing... he was showing off how they look and someone else pointed out... but look... you can't see where the road meets the sidewalk. They did blend together. I'm not sure I'm unhappy with the amount of light I have. I'd like to look at silver star to change the color a little, but not if I loose road details.

I give, I can't find the post showing the pics. But one note... dont most people use HID on the dim side only? If you run both, you're pulling a lot more amperage. Plus... if you tyr to use the brights to get attention... it takes a second for the HID to turn on, it's not instant like an incadecent bulb. So if you flick the high beam on and right back off.... will you notice the flash?
