Thanks, Yes the RC motors have enough speed and torque to cut you finger clean off. This thing is scary at 24V. Its been my indoor hobby to hot to be outside. Working on a 4 psi design for motorcycles.
Yep I got ya I fly R/C and have been playing with Lipos since they came out. In R/C the duct fan units the Brushless motors are capable of propelling a R/C jets past 200 mph so they should suit the turbo supercharger just fine.
The ducted fans are good for what they were meant for. Put the EDF on a car and you might get 3 to 5 HP. Problems is the fan was never attended to be stationary in a intake. So when pressure starts to build up it simply passes back through the fan blades. That is why I use a real compressor that makes boost internally then flows it into the engine. With the given turbocharger (10,000 to 12,000 rpm per psi ) its making just around 1.5 to 2.0 psi of boost at a 26,000 rpm loaded speed.
Currenlty rebuilding my 24V version hope to have it ready soon. Also got a air powered supercharger powered by onboard air tank. Have not begun testing it yet but if it works then you could have like 6 to 10 psi of boost for 45 seconds then recharge the air tank in 2 minutes. Thats plenty of run time for passing, quarter mile, and just bashing around.
