Need your opinion
I found a Yellow 2002 F4i. It has 3900 miles on it, one owner and he wants $5,000 for it. (Is that too much)
When i called him i asked him how much he wanted for his F4i and he was like my what? I said for the F4i you have parked with a forsale sign on it. He was like oh the CBR, i was like yea. So i am guessing he probally didnt ride it too much, he didnt even know what i was talking about. He said that he hardly rode it, and that he wanted to get rid of it.
What do you guys think?

Also, be weary of "Private Sellers" that aren't even sure of what they're selling.
Some of those are actually less than honest sellers, that actually go and buy cars at repo/salvege auctions, and then pose as "private owner/seller" to avoid having to register as a used car dealer (and therefore bypass the licensing fees, and the legal responabilities/liabilities a dealership would incurr)

if it's one owner and it's got 3900 miles on it. How in the hell does he not know what it is. I would be leary of that more than anything. If he has had it for 5 years i am sure someone has asked him what kind of bike is that before. That and just about every bike you find used was hardly ridden by somebody little sister and has never been wheelied or raced or wrecked. Hell i had the local dealer try to sell me a bike that had not been down. Funny The crank case was all scuffed up. I am not a very trusting person when it comes to bikes and 4-wheelers.

RE: Need your opinion
I suspect he was trying to be cool, you never know, could be his "ex's" bike, that he is trying to unload. Had a friend sell his brothers by for him, as he was O/S, knew bugger all about bikes, and tried to pretend that he did so he would not get ripped off. Would not hurt to take a look at it, you never know. could be "like new". If he is that much of a dork, you may be able to wrangle a better deal. but I would be looking at the ownership papers, with BIG magnifying glass

I wouldn't even think of paying $5000, I think that price is way too high. However, every 01-02 F4i I see in my area (Chicago) is $4700+ which really annoys me because I know they aren't worth that much and I really want one. What do you say when ppl say that the bike has really low miles compared to the average(average milage is 20k) and the seller wants 1K+ over the blue book price?
