Has anyone seen the new permanent oil filter? http://www.hsperformanceparts.com/in...&name=1264 Has anyone used this product, or can think of any drawbacks to using this product, I have an 01 F4i. Mark

They don't say good things. You need to keep using a replaceable filter.

Whoooaaaaahhhh, hold up!!!
You have to clean this filter but that is the bonus of it all - you CLEAN it and put it back together. It also happens to flow 7X more oil than conventional filters, magnetically pre-filters ferrous materials out of the oil before entering the filter and screens out microscopic elements down to 30 microns (white blood cells are around 25 microns).
When you change your oil (like usual) simply pop the filter apart, rinse it out with kerosene, parts cleaner or household dish washer detergent soap- blow it out and put it back in.

Yeah, but cleaning your own oil filter will be a messy job. Since you list them for sale, you have a vested interest in them. Your opinion is biased.
$120 dollars is a little steep when a compared to the number of conventional filters you will use before reaching that amount. Plus, receipts for filter changes with your oil always look good when selling.
