Default Permanent switch

So I lost my only key to my CBR600 F4 and tried to hot wire my bike I figured out how to make the connection to get it to turn over but it won't fire. I think one of the wires running in and out of the switch runs to the ECU but I think it has to run through the resistor in the bottom of the switch assembly. My bike is naked already and was bought for $600. I was wondering if anyone had just wired in a switch before because this is the route I want to go. I know I've seen a lot of stunt bikes with switch ignitions so I know it's possible. If any one could help just pm me.

Hmm, sounds stolen.

If you can post up a picture of the title for "your bike", I'd be more than willing to send you an email with the proper schematic.

For some reason it's insulting to hear that especially since I've been a member of cbrforum for quite awhile and have posted quite a bit, in fact you can see pics of my bike when I posted on how I made my own undertail and wired in led integrated taillights. And not to mention I'm a police officer, do you really need that photo? If so let me know I'll send a pic by phone. Send me a pm with your number and let's get this done my bike is stuck in a town 40 miles from mine and I would like to bring it home.

Check the stunter forums..."since this is the route you want to go." I'm sure they've got all manner of rig-ups. ;-)

If you decide you want a key, take your bike or ignition to a locksmith that makes automotive/motorcycle keys. This is usually a pretty easy job for them. My local 'smith does this for $40 + key-blank.

Good luck.

Yeah I figured they might be the experts on this, it's def the way I want to go. I never had a seat lock so i had to rig that up to pop the seat and then this summer I went to a billet aluminum gas cap so I don't even have to worry about that. I'll just hide my switch well even though the other day was the first time I removed the key in about a year.

I just got my new ignition off ebay brand new for about 30 bucks. Easy install just 3 wires, it was harder findim m7 bolts than anything.

Nice got mine figured out for $2.50. Haven't figured out where I want the final switch though since it's already naked it's hard finding a hiding spot.

Put it right under the top triple. There's a small indent underneath that perfectly fits a button. I lost my key and had to do this instead of buying a new ignition. The wires can easily be concealed along with the other wires that come from the headlights to make it virtually invisible unless you know its there.
