Default How Do I Get More Power?

Hi there,

So I've done all the nice and pretty mods to my '08 CBRrr. Futhermore, I put a power commander in and just recently got it Dyno'd. I still don't like the fact that it doesn't have much low end power. Sure, I can pitch it and get a liter bike but I figured I'd pose this question to you all first....is there a way for me to get more power out of my bike? What else can you do after you think you've done it all?

Any advice is appreciated.

The best bang for your buck for more low end power is definately sprockets and a 520 chain. I have Vortex sprockets that are 1 down 2 up and a 520 rk chain. Its pretty cheap and you will definately notice the difference.

What are the nice and pretty mods?
520 will for sure give you the best bang for the buck on low end. V-stacks, exhaust, air filter are big pluses with the PC if you haven't already installed them.. That's probably the most of what you are going to get before cracking open the engine and start doing some heavy work.

Also if you want just the low end feel im sure the 520 conversion with a 1/4 turn throttle would waste 1st enough for you.

520 chain gives you nothing. You can not feel it at all. The -1/+2 is what you will feel. Ther are probably 6 people on this forum that would notice the difference that just a 520 chain would give you. If you haven't you could get an exhaust system, not a slip on. I would change the sprokets and forget about it. If you want more get a different bike.

Thanks, fellas. Pretty mods include:

Akarapovic exhaust - slip on
Pazzo Levers
Puig Windscreen
Flush mounted signals
Competition Werks F/E kit
Frame Sliders - which have now saved my fairings twice
Seat Cowel

So Sprokets and a new chain may be the next purchase on the list. Will the new spockets take away from my high end power?

yes. shorter gearing will only shift your power to lower speeds. I don't know what stock gearing will top out at; but 14k in 6th is ~140mph with the -1 +1 sprockets i have on my F4i....
