If I'm interpreting your measurements right, this means at the inner side of the disc pad area, the distance between the spoke side face of the caliper and the spokes is 44mm (because of the taper of the spokes) - This gives a distance (airgap) of just 2mm between the spokes and the caliper at that point.

Can you confirm this is correct and/or give me the actual airgap between the inside edge of the caliper and the spokes.

cheers and beers
That is correct. i will double check it for u.

Hi MARK1200,

Sorry to hassle you, but did you have time to check the airgap between the spokes and the inner side of the Caliper yet?

cheers

BOLT SPACING IS 62MM. I HAVE THE CALS OFF RIGHT NOW SO THEY ARE EASY TO MEASURE . If u need any more #'s just let me know. mine is a 2001 f4i
i should not have measured from the inside of the disk, since the cal doesn’t go in that far. Sorry for that.

so i started over. i mounted the cal, and slid a drill bit and feeler gauge in-between the cal and the spoke. this seems to be the most accurate method i could come up with.
so the actual clearance between the spoke and caliper is 6.98 mm.
Feel free to ask for more info.

That sounds better!

If I interpret this latest information correctly the Caliper must be slightly off centre by about 5mm, with the outside of the Caliper being slightly wider than the inside.

Using the data you provided earlier this means:

Total width of Caliper is 84mm
Maximum distance between inside edge of disc and spoke is 49mm
Minimum distance between inside edge of disc and spoke is 44mm
Minimum clearance between inner edge of the Caliper and spoke is approximately 7mm (6.98mm).
Therefore the inside width of the Caliper is approximately 44mm-7mm=37mm and the outside width of the Caliper is 84-37 = 47mm (Less the thickness of the disc of about 3mm = approximately 44mm)
Thanks for your patience over this.

there seems to be some variables, like there is a small step on the inside of the cal.

what i know for certain is :
-the dist from spoke to cal = 6.98mm.
-Total width of Caliper is 84mm
-the Caliper is defiantly centered.
- my disk is 4.5mm thick

check your pm's.
