im new to the sport bike world, have had all kinds of quads, dirtbikes, sleds, everything and anything. Im 21 and just home from my tech school, and working at a arctic cat CanAm dealer, and decided to give the sportbike world a try now that i have the funds. so i picked up a 03 cbr600RR for a good deal, threw some new tires on it and put on some good hard miles over the summer. the bike has a micron slip on and thats it as far as performance goes.

my problem is i feel like the bike is lacking. it handles great but just doesnt have the getup and go i thought it would. im comparing it to a 03 ZX6R which will pull the fron wheel of the ground without me trying in 1-3. while my RR doesnt even come close.

im use to the low end grunt of my 450r that i have a lot of time and money into the engine.

so i guess my question is
1) is normal power or is it time for a rebuild on my RR which15kmiles but not burning oil(havent done a comp check yet)
2)is there any good mods to get this bike to wake up
3)do i just need to say screw it and step up to a 1000?

i went 1 tooth down on the front of my 04 its a reasonable jump in acceleration for the price IMO
