Air Filter for 08 CBR 1000...

RE: Air Filter for 08 CBR 1000...
Me and my Friend did the Akro/BMC/PC3/Ignition Module install.
Most everybody says a high flow air filter helps, but not much. Usually 1-3 HP. If you're doing the PC, etc and you have all the stuff tore down, like you're going to need to then you might as well install a BMC or K&N.
The race tire does not grow at speed like a street tire. Therefore a street tire grows putting more pressure (less slip) on the dyno givesa higher number. Basically the race tire is slipping on the dyno at high speed giving a slightly lower number. It wouldn't be slipping on the asphalt.
I have about 2600 miles on my bike.
Actually the tune up gave about 6 HP over the map at Power Commanders sight. Try the map of the Akro full system or the KR full system. They are pretty close.
The biggest change after dynoing the bike was the overall smoothness and feel. Also a bit more on the top end. If you do the full system, PC3, Ignition Module and use one of the maps at Power Commanders website, you'll love the difference. I always feel when doing all of the above, it's best to get the bike professionally tuned.
I'll see about posting the dyno chart when I can.
Have fun!
