Yea i work on CVPI all day long, usually prep but do a few transmissions here and there and what not. Been prepping chargers now so had to do that stupid *** course just like the ford one. I can't beleive they wanted you to clean turbos instead of replacing em. We'd have so many come back within days, i get a lot of blown transmissions. I think we had 6-7 in the shop at one time with 4 lifts haha. Ford is really getting cheaper and cheaper and cheaper. There using the power steering reservoirs from the explorers on the cvpi instead of making a dif one. I get a lot of cab and chassis with drw and the 6.4 so going up a hill and full boost goes sideways.

Back on topic, im only at 10,300 so might have to do it next winter i should have 20k or so by then. Short riding season in MA. Just changed my rear dogbone and raised the front forks back up (bought it used and lowered). Checked the air filter and what not and will be doing tires soon. i like to do everything my own car and bike. Honda bike and Honda (acura) car so im good for the high mileage.

Oh and the IDS SUCKS *****. Our cable keep ****ting the bed and the USB ports dont work now so we're IDS-less which is not good since we only have one. We're a small shop but we do most of the state police cars and a **** load of municipalities from NH,VT,RI, MA and some towns in CT.
Yup yup I have the same problem with the IDS USB cables breaking all the time. I just had one a week or two ago, the whole cable physically broke right where it comes out of the VCM. We did find a fix to the USB ports going out though... now we have a little pigtail of a USB cable, and it has a little screw on it (like the desktop monitor cables and whatnot). So we just screw that in and leave it in there, that way we're not unplugging and replugging into the USB port itself. When the connector on the pigtail wears out it's cheap to get a new one. I haven't had one go out yet though! When it's working right though, the toughbook is a badass little notebook! Touchscreen and integrated WiFi are always nice. That's where I do half my postwhoring from!

But yea, Ford is definitely getting cheap with stuff! All the time I'm looking at something, and think "man that looks like........____________". Those CVPI's still burning up the overdrive band in the 4R75? Seemed like those things ALWAYS burned up on the cop cars! The dealer I work at now is Ford/Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep, so we get both the CV and the Charger cop cars. We've got 3 in the shop now, one Charger with some really weird problems (already on the 3rd motor in 14k miles.... yea). "No I swear it ran bad before they put all the lights and strobes on it" Ugh yea right

Oops sorry for the tread hijack.... [&:]

whats NESR?

Jared there always burning everything up, one car had the transmission rebuilt 6-7 times in 35k miles. Gotta love those hole shots.

Looks easy enough, we dont do valve adjustments on the 4.6 just valve seals so im sure i can do this. So the shim goes under the cover? no need to remove anything else?

Yea you've gotta use a magnet to pull the bucket out and the shim will be underneath. Just a lil tiny thing... careful with it!

Some shops won't check and NOT adjust, so they quote 1 price. Some will separate. I'd imagine that labor rate for check is about 2-2.5hrs

Lobe should point directly away from the bucket.

I posted a link a few posts back. Look there. Pics and explanation of everything.

Also, you have a PM.
