Compatible Switch assemblies for '87 Hurricane 1000?
Hi everyone, I can only find the starter switch assembly new from Honda. They don't make the turn signal one anymore. Does anyone know if any of the newer models is compatible with the '87 model? I called my dealer but he only checked up to '90 and he didn't even find the bike. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Welcome to the Forum !
I can take pics of the 90 model switches if it's any good to you, and the wiring diagrams. I suspect the 90's will fit, but only checking the part numbers will really answer the question......
There are good second hand ones on www.e-Bay.co.uk.
Look under Honda spares, and you'll find them. Cheap too..
go to www.Mrcycles.com - you will find all the part numbers for all the Hurricanes.
Compare the 88 with later models and you'll have your answer. They sell new parts there too.
Hope this helps

Thank you Shadow! No need for pictures. I was able to get them via Mrcycles! I had never heard of them. I really appreciate the offer and the information.
I also called the salvage yard in Baltimore and they told me to use leather conditioner. I'll try that when I get home and see what happens. I may not even have to buy new ones. Thanks again!

If you'd told us that they were just faded, we could have told you to use leather conditioner, or even silicone spray, which restores the colour too, but is a bit slippery, which leather conditioner isn't. Do them once a month, and use on your brake hoses, chain guard and other black bits to keep them looking smart and minimise stiffening. Even some household spray furniture polishes will work. I use leather conditioner on my switches - I'm sure most of us with older bikes do.
