Default Chain/sprocket how to post, where is it??

I'm going to replace my chain/sprockets on my "96 CBR1000F. Doing the work myself. (first time) Somewhere on this site I ran into a step by step narrative of how to do it, but now I can't find it despite multiple searches. Can anyone direct me to that post, if they know where it is???
Thanks for the help!

I had posted the process I went through, but it was on my wifes F3. The steps are the same. The chain is a different length though.

Well, thanks..., I had fun doing it. Most of my friends think I'm a little strange for enjoying the opportunity to dig into my bike. Don't get me wrong, I like it when it all runs great, but when something needs done, there's nothing like the satisfaction of doing it myself. Not to mention all the cool tools you get to buy .

+1 on the tools and DIY, but I prefer it to be on a project bike. I get great satisfaction from rebuilding old/broken bikes, and taking them out on the road again. It's a sort of escape from the day to day reality, and I can spend hours tinkering with something until I'm happy. Fortunately, my wife has her own bike, and I get to tinker with that, too, just like Idodirt.

Thanks guys, got it! I put alot of touring miles on my "96, and pulling G's isn't my priority so I'm staying stock on the gearing. Sprocket Center's getting my money and I'll pick up a chain tool online as well. Looks like the drive sprocket cover shouldn't be a problem getting off. Thanks for the help, I'll hollar for help if I get into a jam!

One little trick I forgot to mention on getting the front sprocket off. Put it into 6th gear. That creates the most amount of drag against the motor from a gearing standpoint. That, along with applying the rear brake should enable you to get it off. It has normal threads if I remember correctly, not "left handed" threads. Good luck and let us know how it goes....
