Default Need quick help with synchronization

I recently got my 1988 cbr1000 running again and I just replaced the cam chain and adjusted the valves and I am trying to sync the carbs using a manometer like this: http://members.optusnet.com.au/~macm...eterK100RS.jpg and the #4 carb is just sucking all the oil up, I have adjusted the #4 screw as much as I can and it won't equalize. Kinda out of ideas.
Thanks.

Pablo ......ya think a valve is totally outta whack on 4 ???

As in not completely seating or closing on the inlet side !
might be how you timed it up too !

Interesting.
Maybe try turning the idle up and #4 down?

I triple checked the valves, so I don't think that it is that, and the timing.

The problem is that the adjuster screw is about a turn from falling out in the present state that it is in.

Cbrclassic my be right, I adjusted the float levels then it started doing it. That could do it?

AHA ! I seem to recall someone else doing this and having a similar problem. Return the float levels to their original positions and all should be at least a lot better. There's a post on this somewhere..............

If that is the case, #4 is closed to much and the other three need to be opened more. You will need to get #4 closer to the base carb and then bring the other two in.

The problem Timbuctwo is that you have to adjust the other carbs to match#2. You can't adjust it on my model and I can't adjust #4 anymore.

Thanks shadow, I'll search for it.

Problem solved. Turns out that the spring in between the adjusters was all messed up on the number 4 carb. Ha. Thanks guys.
