[:@]I am just about to give up on this thing. I bit the bullet and bought a new alternator from Honda $$$$! Installed it and it actually charged for about 5 minutes then right back to about 11.6V @ any RPM. So it now has a new battery, voltage regulator and an alternator. I have run new grounds to everything, d&a the ign switch (new) to check that, new ground and pos cables, re ran the wiring from the regulator to the alt. When running the reg gets really hot right away. Substituted another battery and still the same. What the heck gives? I have been working on race cars, exotic cars, plain cars and restored a few Honda 750s over the last 30 years but this has me stumped. Anysuggestions short of a gas can and a match?

 

I dont think a gs can and a match will be the answer!!!
