‎1975 BMW R75/5 with a 1977 upgraded transmission and some performance modifications to the valves and engine making it a 900cc. The old man that sold it to me is a friends uncle that was big into motorcycles and did some racing. He said one year he put 57k miles on a bike. This was his little road racer project. He is working on a Ford Rat Rod and needed the space so he was getting rid of this.

I think I need to put it in the corner and throw a cover over it until I finish this project.

Come Spring I'm not going to know which toy to play on if I manage to get all these put together.

What a great project bike to have. I'd like seeing your gettin' it to go project notes on it too! ;-)

I'll start a new thread somewhere and put a link in this one once I get started. It needs a new battery so we didn't start it but he said it ran great when he parked it a bout a year ago so I doubt I'll need to do much to it on that front.

The gas tank has a leak so I'm going to be scouting for a new one while I continue on the Honda. All of the other changes I plan on doing are pretty cosmetic. I don't like the green paint and the turn signals/lights are all a little outdated. Besides those type of things it will be more of a maintenance related changes.

'ts not a proper hobby if it doesn't take all your cash...been counting what my basic maintenance will cost during the winter (oils,filters,chain/sprockets, powdercoat rims, re-coat seat...) upwards 500e. Bike cost 1,5k.

Btw that fin-fairing looks pretty awesome. I somehow figured it smaller. Better that way.
